“Spaghetti Warehouse Song” Goes Viral Worldwide

A pop music-styled ‘jingle’ – originally created by a talented L.A.-based production and singing team – to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants is suddenly an overnight Internet sensation.

Not unlike a Hollywood starlet or the latest winner of “American Idol”, the aptly-titled “Spaghetti Warehouse Song” was discovered by a well-known entertainment blog, known as the A.V. Club. From there, the sudden surge in popularity lead to the song being featured on nearly 20 blogs around the world and it was broadcast worldwide by a deejay in Dubai. It has even inspired a “music video” on YouTube.

Heralded by one of the blogs as the “…feel good hit of the summer”, Spaghetti Warehouse is generating attention for the very thing that inspired the song – family. Founded in 1972, Spaghetti Warehouse is recognized as a family-friendly restaurant chain known for its great tasting American Italian food and as a unique gathering place for family and friends to celebrate all kinds of special occasions. Based in Dallas, Texas, the chain consists of 15 locations in Texas, Florida, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

Audra Schroeder of the blog, The Daily Dot, called the “Spaghetti Warehouse Song” the “first modern pop song about lasagne” and says it features “a fist-pumping, Auto chorus.” The song was written and produced expressly for Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants’ 40th Anniversary Celebration by The GeNtLeMYN, a Los Angeles-based musical production and songwriting team that includes a talented young singer, Courtney Jenae.

Upon visiting the restaurant’s website – www.meatballs.com – the song begins playing. “(In creating the song) we wanted to have some fun, create a tune that would get in your head and remind you of the fun you have when you come to Spaghetti Warehouse. We’re excited that it’s taken off,” said Spaghetti Warehouse CEO Doug Pak.

Following on the popularity of its theme song, Pak announced today that Spaghetti Warehouse is launching a YouTube video contest. The winning entry will be awarded $3,000 and two runner-ups will each receive $500. The “Spaghetti Warehouse Song” can be heard on the restaurant’s website at www.meatballs.com or on its YouTube page at: www.youtube.com/user/MySpaghettiWarehouse/videos.

For a chance to win, Pak said, “…we invite you to produce a music video using the Spaghetti Warehouse Song, or a video of the cover of the song. Simply upload the video to your YouTube account using the title “Spaghetti Warehouse Song Contest” and email it to: [email protected] with a link to your video along with information (in the description box) about your video.”

He continued, “And, be sure to encourage all of your friends and family to go to YouTube to view your video. The winning video will be selected by Spaghetti Warehouse from the top three videos with the most views.”

According to Pak, the contest ends Sunday, September 22nd and the winning video will make its debut on the Spaghetti Warehouse website – www.meatballs.com on Monday, September 30th.
